Don's Home

I joined the Davis Community Church (DCC) when I moved back to California in 2018.
My Grandmother on my mother's side was a sunday school teacher at DCC in the 1940's and my parents were married there. DCC was still part of the PC(USA) demonation which supports liberal social values.
It was a breath of fresh air after belonging to conservative Presbyterian Churches for 50 years.
When my mother and grandmother were there, it was still a typical conservative farm family church.
In looking at the history I'd like to believe it started it's turn towards a more progressive church in 1965.
Some churches in Davis were going to the Voting Rights March from Selma to Montgomery AL and the pastor at first thought he shouldn't go, then changed his mind and it worked out well.
See DCC and the Selma March.
