The 12 acre site part of the old Chiles Ranch was purchased by local developers Steve Sherman and Don Fouts in April 2007 for $4.2 million. A plan for 108 single-family homes by Fouts Homes was approved in 2009
The project was changed from Chiles Ranch to Harvest Glen in 2017, after an amendment to the project's approvals, but the Chiles Ranch sign still stood on the property.
In 2025 Century Communities Inc purchased the land for $17.7 million and in May 2025 started construction.

A medium-density residential subdivision of 96 dwelling units on 12.1 acres on East 8th St.
Harvest Glen was originally approved as Chiles Ranch 2009 and primarily consisted of single-family homes on lots ranging from 2,000 square feet to 5,000 square feet.
In 2017, the applicant requested approval of an amendment to the Harvest Glen Subdivision approvals. The residential subdivision map was revised from a 108 unit subdivision to a 96 unit subdivision. The requirement for 20 affordable housing units will be met by the construction of twelve 3-bedroom units and the payment of in lieu fees for 8 units.

"About time! When will the greenbelt connecting the east Davis greenbelt to the cemetery be finished so east Davis kids don’t have to bike on Loyola to get to school? Will there be a park there too?"
The greenbelt will connect the the Davis Bike Loop via Wellesley Pl to Tulip where goes to Loyola Dr. and Mace Ranch Park
However even though it is adjacent to the East side of the cemetery which will be landscaped, it will not be connected because of jurisdictional issues. The cemetery is privately owned and not part of the city and there would be problems with maintenance and policing.
