Donut Spare Tires are the narrow spare tire that fits easily under a panel in the back of your car.

The one for my 2020 Subaru Crosstrek was a T145/80 D17
for the standard tire a 225/60 R17.

Common user manual guidance says they should not be user for more than 50-75 miles and not over 50 MPH.

One of my local tire shops says they can be used up to 1,000 miles.

I drove with one for 50 miles and there was no appreciable wear.

The issue is they do not handle as well as standard tires and would not be as safe when turning, braking etc. especially in emergency situations.
Driving on a spare for an extended period of time can increase wear and tear on various components of your vehicle, including the steering, wheel alignment, and more.
They are used on all-wheel drive cars, but should not be used for too long.
