The 1.25 mile Walkway is a linear park located on the 120-year old, Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge. It is open to walkers, joggers and cyclists from dawn to dusk.
  There is a 3.6-mile loop crossing the Walkway to the north and the Mid-Hudson Bridge to the south. It offers thrilling river views and connects riverside parks, cultural attractions and historic points of interest on the poughkeepsie and Highland waterfronts. Additional links provide easy access to 2.5 miles of nature trails in Franny Reese State Park as well as miles of rail trails in Ulster and Dutchess counties.
