Mid-Atlantic Ridge:
The North American Plate is moving away from the Eurasian plate at the rate of about 1 inch per year. Magma erupts from the earths mantle to fill the gap producing new crustal material at this boundary.
This boundary runs thru Iceland where the Thingvellir fracture is visable in southwestern Iceland.
