Carbon Monoxide Detectors
- Each room with a fuel burning appliance
- Each Sleeping Room
- Outside each separate sleeping area in the immediate vicinity (10' for Placer Co) of the bedroom.
- On each additional story of the dwelling, including basements and habitable attics
- CO is slightly lighter than air, and may be contained in warm air currents rising, so they should be 5' or more high. (Within 12" of the ceiling for Placer Co.")
- They should be in a place with good air circulation
- Ceiling mounted applications, place detectors at least
1 ft. from any wall
- They should be connected so if 1 goes off they all go off.
