Why are some shows with high ratings cancelled?
Networks are most concerned with the 18-49 year old demographic. This generally accounts for slightly less than half the total audience.
Young adult viewers have been TV's target demographic for decades, because they're thought to have less brand loyalty and more disposable income, thus appealing to advertisers.
